Software Engineer
Omega Vortex is looking for a passionate Engineer to join its team to assist in the development of its products and services. The perfect candidate for this position will be extremely focused, a team player, able to work from written specifications on projects, and possess a passion for developing great software products. We need all applicants to understand that we are very much a startup company that is bootstrapping itself from consulting work. Therefore, all income is made from that consulting work at this time. In order for you to make money from this job, you will have to work within our consulting division until software sales allow us to pay wages. Jr. - Sr. PHP Developers
Omega Vortex is looking to add to its team of professional PHP Consultants. We pride ourselves in hiring our consultants rather than outsourcing the work to other companies. All of our PHP Developers have the opportunity to move into development roles for our software and services as time moves on. Our consulting division is currently slated to be temporary, until Software Sales can meet or exceed the cost of business, but that decision is not set in stone. None of our PHP Developers will be laid off in the event that we do close the consulting division. Have a look at the requirements:
- 1 - 4+ Years Experience with PHP/MySQL
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Ability to work in a startup environment
Frankly, our consultants are currently the best paid group of people in the company. Our system works like this: When we take a project and quote a timeframe and a rate on it, we assign a developer to that project. That developer then logs his time spent on that project and submits it to his Manager for review and any augmentation that may be necessary. If more than one developer is working on a project, those hours are combined for the total amount that's sent to the client for invoicing. Our flat company rate is $70 per hour, and the consultants who actually work on the project take home a percentage of the hourly work that they do, based on their experience level. If we quote a project at $70 per hour, and you're a Senior Developer you're taking home $40 per hour for the work that you do.
We take in projects all across the world, but we're currently working with a lot of local organizations. There's plenty of work to be done, so we should be able to maintain a reasonable cash flow for you. Please be advised that you shouldn't take this as your only job, unless you're willing to help us acquire more work when we are short on it.
Web Designer
Omega Vortex is looking for a Web Designer to join our team. This person will be responsible for working within our Software and Consulting Divisions on various different projects. User Interface Design experience is a HUGE plus, but we've got some UI experts on our team to help you out if you don't have any.
- 4+ Years Experience in Web/Graphics Design
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Ability to work in a startup environment
Consultants within our company take home a percentage of the hourly work that they do, based on their experience level. Remember, we're still small and privately owned and funded. We're willing to compensate you with bonuses for work that you do in the software division, but the money-makers at the moment are in the Consulting Division. Software is our bread and butter, though. Once we start selling enough to pay salaries, we won't forget about you.
