NextShout is a shoutbox addon for the vBulletin forum software. The shoutbox uses AJAX and JSON to make it the fastest and most efficient shoutbox for vBulletin on the market. Other shoutbox addons use AJAX and return normal HTML responses. That can eat up a lot of bandwidth after a while. NextShout only returns information based on what's updated since the last refresh, and it does so using JSON objects that are rendered on the client-side. Due to its use of JSON, it renders against native JavaScript Objects, so they're much faster than XML or HTML.
